petite passport

Saturday we had a special and unexpected visit all the way from Rotterdam. Pauline Egge from Petite Passport (and her lovely mum) came to pay us a visit! Pauline is a freelance journalist and collects addresses and impressions of the most beautiful and coolest places to be all over the world. From shops, hotels, city trips you name it. She started a blog where she shares all her finds easily organized by country. But what makes her blog different is that she really tries and tests her hotspots! We're flattered! What a cool job don't you think?

Here what she wrote about us!

home sweet home

02
our dining prepared for our daughter's birthday party last year.

via Anki from zilverblauw (do you know Anki? You have to... check out her creative home at her beautiful blog!) I've decided to post some photo's of my home. Here is why:

Anki says: Barbara started Home Sweet Home. She wants to be more satisfied with her own, nice home instead of just comparing her home to the beauty of other houses. Every monday she publishes photo’s of her home to remember herself that her own house really is her home.

It's not Monday... but such a beautiful wintery day... 0 degrees with this blue sky,... I love it wich makes me in the mood. Yesterday I found some 'old' photo's of my home, so why not?

meet margo slingerland!

margo05
Margo Slingerland graduated in 2004 at the the design academy in Eindhoven and has also a degree in 3D-design from the Utrecht School of Arts. She describes herself as a freelancer designer (she worked for brands as oilily, pip studio and Gsus) specialized in illustration and pattern design. Her work holds in the tenuous line between crafts and design. She uses different techniques and materials from paper to textile. Recently she was at London at Flow Gallery with her fabulous tea set made of paper.

She was also at gosto and left some of her canvases, they are all fun, 'cool, cute and cozy' as she says!

Margo shared with us some images of her home. She has a lovely home, retro/mid-century style mixed with thrifted objects. I love her 'rabbit' corner and her Yoshitomo Nara collection! She's living now between moving boxes I've heard, can't wait to see what she does at her new place! Very inspiring!

jurianne matter - news!

We all know Jurianne Matter from her paperdesigns. Blom, Sing Angels and Paper Lanterns.

She's busy with something new, first two coffee mugs in a giftbox for &klevering, an Amsterdam based brand. The design is very paradoxical and funny, here what Jurianne says: 'One (mug) is called Sun (but has rainy blue colours!), the other is called Rain (with little yellow clouds) and they 'live' together in a little weatherhouse, with cut out doors. If you have finished your coffee, you discover a boot (Rain) or a bare foot (Sun) on the bottom of your cup.'

Then, yesterday she previewed some snapshots from her brand new paper design called Little Tree. Five different mini-tree-cards with matching envelopes. Little Tree is being presented on the Maison et Objet trade show in Paris at this moment. Aren't they lovely? I love the diy spirit of her paper work!

ferm living spring summer 2011

Yesterday I went to the Kleine Fabriek, a chlidren's trade fair in Amsterdam, and had the opportunity to see some of ferm's new adds from their new Spring Summer collection. A collection inspired in the world of theater and entertainment at Copenhagen! A city trip is what you get through the Tivoli and Nyhavn, Zoo and Rundetarn (makes me desperately wanting to go to Copenhagen). A fusion of harlequin graphics, fantastic colors (I love the mint green mixed with coral) and new shapes (see the new vases).

Today they launched officially the collection. Here a pic of my faves. Soon some of these beauties are going to be available at gosto, but from now on you can check them at ferm's website! Enjoy!

diy, the water pipes!

I love diy (do it yourself) projects! I think that's pretty much a national hobby! In Holland when someone buys a house, the next day all friends are ready to help in change of good beer. It's lots of fun! Anyway... I don't do much more than painting here and there and my pallet of colors, besides the kids room, is as you all guess... gray... (I'll show it in another post). That's why I found the next project so nice, and perfect for spring to come days! Why not paint gray pvc water pipes and transform them in colorful vases? The idea is from 101woonideeen, a fantastic dutch diy magazine!

Mix and Match with the pendant lamp E27 from muuto, a very favorite of us!

Designed by Mattias Stahlbom, E27 alias the naked lamp,  it's a real simple lamp, it stands for something that feels romantic and contemporary at the same time. The chosen material is silicone and they exist in oh... so many colors! Buy it here!

color inspiration: yellow

yellow
via: http://alloverprint.blogspot.com

I have difficulty with colors! Don't get me wrong, I love a colourful interior but at home I chose for neutral colors, grays, black and white. First because I don't live alone, second with children getting a mess so fast this color choice gives tranquility to the interior and third because I really find difficult to mix and match with colors and go for a safe choice.

I was looking at my collection at pintrest and found something interesting! Lots of my inspiration pictures are of neutral interiors with a little splash of yellow.... yes, yellow... is yellow the new black? I kind of like it (in small amounts) and look at the shop and found lots of yellow accessorizes too...

inspiration: the wood lamp

I decided to start with new year's blog resolutions, time for something new! First of all, I want to wish all of you that read and follow gosto, my friends and family all the best for the next year!

As I was saying... I decided to do more than just leave here a note about the wonderful products that we have!

I search inspiration all over, and internet is a great source for my finds. Time to start a new rubric with styling productions that inspire me and that involve or use some of the products that we sell and also love!

Nothing better to see what you can do with an object or get stimulated to be more audacious in your styling choices and skills.

I hope you enjoy!

We start with: 'the wood lamp' by TAF architects for muuto.

'The all-wood design is a low-tech antidote to high tech work desk lamps. All the details are pragmatically chosen with every screw visible. the wooden lamp gets lots of personality with the most simple methods.' TAF architects.

This lamp goes well with all kind of interiors, from classic with a rough hedge to a more clean and modern. Perfect to mix!
